Stoke-on-Trent (Pollution Stories- Stoke)

A film by Katy Godwin

A poetic engagement with the issue of urban air pollution in the city of Stoke-on-Trent beautifully intercutting between the visible spectacular pollution of the city’s industrial past and the more invisible pollutants of its present day status as a transit hub. The film works beautifully in combination with its companion piece ‘Changes’ which gives words to some of the ideas presented in this piece of visual storytelling.

Main pollutant of concern in Stoke-on-Trent is nitrogen dioxide (NO2). High concentrations of NO2 associated with busy, congested roads.
